Building muscle at home?

If I buy 1, maybe 2 60 or 70lb. dumbbells, could i get a good looking physique at home with good routines before the summer? I also have a curl bar with 2 15lb plates on each side.

Im 18 years old, and never stuck to a routine. I also dont exercise right now either.

Thanks.

Im 6′0", 155lbs, pretty flabby for a skinny guy. but im not too weak to where i couldnt lift a 60 or 70lb dumbell.

I think the issue you should be most concerned about is sticking to a schedule. Anyone can do sit-ups, push-ups, and pull-ups at home to get in shape but you would really need to be persistent on sticking to your schedule. Once you miss a day or two that’s usually the beginning of the end. If you don’t have the motivation or discipline to stay on schedule I would suggest getting a workout partner — preferably someone who already works out regularly.

lots of reps and lots of good food and you can look toned in no time
also try doing other things like push-ups, dips etc.
maybe try p90x(look up on google or youtube)

in all honesty i have been in this situation.

Your not looking for weight, your looking for routine.

your better off getting more than one type of dumbell (Ranging from 20-60 lb) and doing multiple workouts with them, simply lifting them wont do you much good at all, make sure you work all the muscles around your chest, added to that do sit ups and push ups. those will help you almost as much as the dumbells and will wear you down slower.

Check with a school coach for good dumbell workouts but otherwise dont blow your muscles on 60-70 lb weights, just because you "can" lift them, does not mean you should. i have lifted 25 lb for nearly a year. i have a nice physique (Or so i think) and its not that i couldnt lift more, its just better on the muscles if you do not stress them.

Here, this should work for you and you can continue with your current routine of doing nothing!
